Sarah has spent most of her life around East Anglia and currently lives in Norfolk with her husband and son. Her work with children has stretched from teaching cooking with 5-year-olds to her current role invigilating exams for 16-year-olds. She has always enjoyed travel including a charity hike for The Children’s Society to Machu Picchu in Peru where she met her husband. Her inspiration for a series of travel books for young children came from the many trips she has taken with her son and his enthusiasm to learn more about their destinations.

Pellington and Welephant started life in the local fish and chip shop when Wellington boots was mispronounced as Pellington boots. Pellington became a playful pelican and a cute elephant was introduced as his friend, Welephant. They both, of course, came in Wellington boots!

In March 2023 Austin Macauley Publishers offered to publish their adventures starting with a trip to Paris By Train. After many months of development the two friends arrived on the bookshelves on 24th May 2024. By day 3 the book was sold out on Amazon. Since then there have been press releases, radio interview and school visits. Read more about these in the news section below.
